Why BiltProtect?

BiltProtect was created to let you pay rent from your linked bank account and still earn points with your Bilt Mastercard®. Terms apply to earn points.

When you submit rent payments with BiltProtect turned on, a withdrawal will be initiated from your linked bank account and money will be transferred to pay your rent through the Bilt Mastercard network. This will be reflected on both your Bilt Mastercard account statement under the BiltProtect Summary, and in your Bilt Wallet as two transactions cancelling each other out. You’ll still earn 1X points on rent payments, up to 100,000 points per year.

A BiltProtect ACH transaction is not a credit card transaction and will not affect your Bilt Mastercard account. Remember to make 5 transactions that post to your account each statement period to earn points.

If you choose not to use BiltProtect, you may charge your rent directly to your Bilt Mastercard and we’ll include this amount on your statement balance.

Why is this important?

Using BiltProtect could help assure your rent is immediately paid and makes your Bilt Mastercard® act with the simplicity of a debit card payment.

You'll also keep your credit line free of your rent payments, and lower your credit utilization, referring to how much of your available credit you use at any given time. If we’re looking at the bigger picture, building your credit can help you qualify for a mortgage and save you thousands of dollars when you buy a home.

Head to the card tab at the bottom of the app. Scroll down to “Rent Payment Settings” and you can enable BiltProtect.
